Enter your ZIP code, and the skin will tell you if you need to carry an umbrella. For those who want a bare essentials forecast. No code magic here; this skin just parses the info from the excellent website doineedanumbrellaDOTcom: [link]
US ONLY Sorry, the website works with US ZIP codes only.
Instructions: Right-click on the skin and use the context menu entries to switch between light and dark versions, and between left and right orientations. Click the location text to enter your ZIP code. (You can also try city names like on the website, but ZIP codes seem more sure-fire.) Mouseover "YES" or "NO" to see a tooltip with some additional weather information. If for any reason the context menu options, clicking the location, etc. are not working, all those options can be changed manually in the [Variables] section of the skin file

Changelog: (Version 2 | 25 January 2013) Updated the skin to work with the new version of doineedanumbrella.com Added an option to change the skin to be right-justified Appearance options use the new ContextTitle/ContextAction feature from Rainmeter 2.4 Default font is now Corbel, but the font can be changes in the [Variables] section of the skin file
I took a look at the website and it would be super easy to write a skin for that. The only disadvantage I see is that after you search for a location, the website doesn't return the name of the location that they matched your search to - so for instance you might search for "Athens," and the website might return a result for Athens Georgia or Athens Greece, and you wouldn't be able to tell which it was. Otherwise, super simple. I am very busy with schoolwork right now but I ought to be able to whip something up over holiday break. Thanks for the suggestion!
glad to know its a easy code to write. about the location, i think people would just have to search for the exact code of the location, and it would be it.
Well hope you do good with your school work and hopefully we we'll have a new skin soon
Looks like an error on their (doineedanumbrella.com) end; it's giving me the same problem: "WXPRAW" instead of location. Hopefully it's temporary.
In the mean time, you can get rid of this text in the skin by doing the following: - Right click and "edit skin" - Delete the entire [Location] meter section - Change the position values in the [YN] meter section to X=64 Y=5 - Save and refresh
Update pls
it would be much appreciated by all users out of U.S
amazing work btw , and hope you can work with this one next time
cheers
